I cannot take any credit for this project at all, but I had to share it. My husband spent so much time and energy tuning this into something worth displaying. The results are incredible!
Here is the before
He had already started working on it before I had a chance to take a complete before. But you get the idea. The drawers were cracked. There was a lot of sun damage.
This is after most of the sanding was finished.
And the after......
Amazing, huh! I love it!

I love this style of cabinet. I have one (not nearly as beautiful) that I was going to sell though I don't think I can now (even though I have no where to put it!).
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty! Very nice finish...the piece still holds it's charm.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sherry and Kristine for stopping by and taking time to leave a comment. I really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteI love this...I have been looking for one to restore, but so far they are all too pricey. Great job. I'm a follower so stop by and see me and follow if you like.
ReplyDeleteWarm wishes, Lori
Lori, thanks for follwing me. I will definitely stop at your blog and follow you also.
ReplyDeleteWe were given this card catalog by my grandpa, he was cleaning out his garage and would have gotten rid of it. We got very lucky!
I love how it turns out. I am a new follower. Thanks for dropping by in my blog.
ReplyDeleteOh my heavens. I love it! I have coveted having card catalog drawers (even though I have no place to put them) and am still hoping to find some at a thrift store or yard sale. Yours look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I love it. I'm a new follower! I hope you'll follow me back but no pressure!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted a piece like this! It wouldn't fit in my home with the as-is decor but believe you me I would redecorate me ENTIRE house if I scored one of these ever!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, newest follower.
Wow I am so jealous! I watch Big Band Theory and I see their card catalog in the background and always think I want one. Great job to you and the hubby!
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower through the project queen linkup. I hope you'll stop by some time.
This is gorgeous! And it's EXACTLY what I hope to do with an older card catalog in my possession!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great. My mother in law was going to give me a HUGE 8 drawer antique file cabinet that I had to turn down because of it's size. My husband said that it would have been a nightmare to move. This reminds me of it. I would love if you linked to my linky party at: http://eyehearttoday.blogspot.com/2011/11/anything-goes-at-eye-heart-3.html
ReplyDeleteThis is BEAUTIFUL! What a great find! Thank you for sharing!

That is great! I've always wanted one of these- you are lucky to have it! They are hard to find. And you did a beautiful job!!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Where did you find it? I have "dibs" on my great grandfather's old apothecary cabinet and can't wait to get it. In the meantime, I drool over your card catalog!

Love this! We have a light colored card catalog that we'd love to refinish this way - would your husband share what stain/color he used? Thanks so much!
